I've mentioned before that two things I am passionate about is food and fitness. I have been a vegetarian my entire life, mainly because my parents and entire family are vegetarian. Since I grew up very 'American-ized' my parents definitely gave me the option of adding meat into my diet if I ever wanted to; but honestly, the site of a cheeseburger has never looked appetizing to me. Anyway, I grew up with so many people constantly asking me, "what do you eat if you can't eat meat?" Do you see the food industry lately? Sometimes I feel like there are more vegetarian options on a menu than meat options!
I've also always been pretty in shape and credit a lot of that to my diet. I'm never hard on myself or restrict myself from sweets or candy. Aside from listening to my body, I am constantly doing a ton of research on new products before I try them out or recommend them to anyone else. More recently, I started posting pictures of my favorite products/foods (that I have baked) on my Instagram and have gotten a lot of positive feedback and a few samples from different companies. Therefore, I've decided to expand this blog into product reviews as well! Here goes nothing:
I am a huge, huge, HUGE nut butter fiend. With twelve or more jars in my cabinet, I never run out of options. Nut butters are absolutely perfect in my oatmeal, on toast, apples, or eating a spoonful right out of the jar (I know I'm not the only one). Barefoot and Chocolate owners were kind enough to let me sample two of their most popular products, almond coconut chocolate and hazelnut chocolate.
I'm going to keep this short and sweet: get rid of your Nutella jar and switch over to the chocolate hazelnut that Barefoot and Chocolate offers. Tastes much better and you aren't filling your body with the garbage in Nutella! These squeeze packs offered a perfect amount for me to put on my toast - then a little extra to eat alone. I was also pleased to see that all their ingredients are considered "fair trade", meaning it guarantees that the farmers who grow the ingredients used receive a fair price for their crops so they can afford to feed their families. How awesome is that?! Although these spreads may not be as healthy as other ones, it is definitely a perfect option for your sweet tooth without going overboard. In the end, both products tasted rich without an overwhelming taste of only one flavor. If you love Almond Joys, you will enjoy the almond coconut spread.
Although Barefoot and Chocolate provided me with their samples, all opinions are my own.
